Hi all,
Would anyone be able to shed light on what size screw is required for shutter button linkage that only seems to be described as 'Screw Machine (special)' in the service manuals? Thanks in advance for any help!
Hopefully this image is at least somewhat instructive as to which one I mean!

The screw in question has a 2-56 thread and is 5/32" long. (I removed and measured one from a 4x5 Pacemaker.) The head is 7/32" diameter and is a low-profile round head (what is often called a truss head). The low profile is probably intended to prevent it from fouling the bellows, but it is what makes it a "special" screw, and you will not likely be able to buy one like this. I would recommend that you get a regular flat head 2-56 screw with a washer, solder the screw head into the washer, and clean up with a file. The diameter of the head is not critical as long as it is larger than the width of the slot in the little lever. You can get the screw and washer in brass from Micro Mark (www.micromark.com). _________________ WilliamH |
