I have a 1947 style Speed graphic camera. it has a plain ground glass on the back with no provision for a film holder. what is this for? I assume that I need to obtain a spring back for actual use.

If your camera has a ground glass it has a back, will accept at least sheet film holders and insertion type roll holders such as the Cambo/Calumet and the Adapt-A-Roll 620.
