|

I could most definitely be wrong, but it appears the high/low switch of the Speed is not working proper in the low setting. It sounds nice and crisp in the high setting, but it does not give me the confident sound in the low setting. Sounds like there is some slop. And at a 30th of a second, I don’t hear the full cycle thru of the curtain until I release the shutter. Does that make sense? To me, it sounds like the tension in the low setting isn’t set high enough. Difficult fix? |

Set the shutter to O as if you are preparing to use the front in lens shutter, set the tension to low, trip the shutter = shutter should close and lock, lock is the shutter/wind key will not turn any further in the opposite direction of the wind arrow. This should happen with the camera in any position.
If the curtain does not fully close from O on low tension the shutter needs a CLA.
When the shutter release is released the curtain will run in the closed direction another 1/4 inch of curtain travel.

Thanks for the resource @45PSS. Looks a bit intimidating... At least I have a visual to try and understand. |

If this is a Pacemaker you're talking about, there is no low speed tension setting in any case. The low focal plane shutter speeds on the Pacemaker are produced by engaging a little centrifugal brake mechanism which slows down the shutter without affecting the spring tension. _________________ WilliamH |
