Howdy,
I'm starting to use my two Super D cameras again and I'd like to know what filter set-ups I need. I guess I need a filter adapter, maybe a Series 7 for the 4x5? No idea what will work with the smaller camera. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks, Arthur |

Which lens or lenses do you have? That will determine Series 6, Series 7, ... |

Measure the Outside Diameter of the lens, look up the Series size in this thread

acquire a series holder to fit the diameter of your lens. Tabs on series filter holders can be bent ± .5mm/.02 inch. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |

My Super D lenses are both Kodak Ektars set in Graflex "Automatic Diaphraming" shutters. Although the lenses are different focal lengths, they have the same outside diameter of 44-45mm. which means that I'll be able to use one set for both lenses. I must need Series VII, which supposedly fits lens diameters of 42.5 to 50.5mm. But the filter diameter for Series VII is 50.8mm. Does that make sense? |

All series VII filters are the same size. Series 7 (VII) holders are the same size except for the fingers ( little strips of metal with a small space between them) that fit on the lens. The filter is slightly larger than the largest diameter of lens it is to be used on. Series filters may have a metal ring around the edge or be glass with no ring.
Series filter holders have a retaining ring that screws into the front of the holder to hold the filter in place. Some ebay sellers sell the adapter without the retainer, the retainer has to be purchased separately. Series lens hoods screw into the front of the series filter holder in place of the retaining ring. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |
