|
|
Hi everyone,
I have an old Speed Graphic that i picked up some time ago and I haven't really done much with it. I'd like to use it hand held for shots and I have two lenses in my bag. One is a wide angle Optar 90mm f6.8 and a Kodak Ektar 203mm f7.7. The reason I ask is i will need to figure out how to adjust my infinity stops and my kalart rangefinder to that lens so I want to set things up for the best of the two lenses. My first question is which lens should i set the camera up for? The camera came with a 135mm Optar but its badly scratched so the only other lenses i have are those two. My last question is, i have a Kalart rangefinder i want to use for hand held shots but i see no double image through it. Is it expensive to repair? Sorry for all the questions on my first post.
Thanks

The beamsplitter has failed. Sources for beamsplitters is drying up. You want a 50/50 beamsplitter mirror that may be found on ebay or edmund optics http://www.edmundoptics.com/optics/beamsplitters/plate-beamsplitters/plate-beamsplitters/31414/
Measure yours first and order a different size if needed. The rangefinder will need to be reclaibrated once the mirror is replaced. A Kalart rangefinder can be calibrated to one lens at a time. Select the lens you want to calibrate it to then follow the procedures at http://graflex.org/speed-graphic/kalart-adjustment.html _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |
