How can I make or get a Pacemaker Speed Graphic focusing scale for a 210mm lens?
Is there a standard scale that would work or would I have to have a custom made one? |

You can calculate the locations of marks on a focussing scale using the lensmaker's equation, and then transfer these to a paper scale which you can fix to the camera bed. In theory the lensmaker's equation is only accurate for a simple lens, but I've made a number of scales for different lenses this way and they have worked very well. To make the scale itself, use any computer drafting program which allows accurate coordinates to be entered (I use Corel Designer), and then print it out, making sure of course that the printout is correctly scaled. I attach the scale to the bed using rubber cement (ordinary rubber cement, not contact cement) - this holds well enough, but allows the scale to be detached if desired without leaving a residue. _________________ WilliamH |

I received and installed the infinity stops and the part of the scale that has the arrow, 100 feet and infinity. I focused on a building several miles away and got the location for infinity. I have a 100 foot tape measure and I found and marked the 6', 8', 10', 15', 25' and 50' locations. Tomorrow I will find and mark the 100' location. |

I added the 100' mark. A mark for 5' would be too close to the one for 6'. |
