I just bought a Auto Graflex Jr and I want to shoot film with it. Which film holder works well with these, if any. How can I get this to work, where I can focus the camera and take good photos. |

Sorry but unless I overlooked it, I didn't see anything about film holders. |

Look at the pictures of the camera in the link.
The upper shutter roller protrudes, will get in the way of a Graflex 23 roll holder as described here http://www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info/graflex_1.html Because of the way the roll holder attaches, attaching it upside down is not possible.
As far as I can see, you're cooked. |

I see now. I have a friend with a 22" graphic one, I will try it. On the other hand, what is the model holder on the camera in the link |

This catalog from 1923, http://piercevaubel.com/cam/catalogs/1923graflexlp324.htm , on page 11 shows a No. 50 roll film holder as an accessory. I have never seen a #50 RFH listed on ebay. I have never handled a Auto Jr.
Sheet film holders that will work are 2 sided Graflex sheet film holders. They look like standard 2 sided sheet film holders but have a grove in place of the ribs on the darkslide end and are slightly wider. If you see light trap ribs on the darkslide end they will not work. see catalog page 34.
Graflex Grafmatic, same characteristics as the 2 sided sheet film holder.
Graflex Bag Magazine, see catalog page 35.
All of these must be for the 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 format commonly called 2x3. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |

I found that Suydam holders will work from my research. It took some time to find it. None of the 22" or 23" holders work due to (above mentioned) need to be flipped. The Suydam holders will work because the knob is on the bottom, and it is used for that purpose. Finding one is the trouble. Not too many, but for this camera, everything works great and I would be stupid not to keep searching for a decent priced one. |

Be careful when you shop. Suydam roll holders came in more than one size and fit. For example, mine has a ridge at the right side of the gate, will not go on a Graflex back. The ridge isn't the only problem; the plate is too thick to fit too. |
