I’m working on a project about Dorothea Lange. She used a Graflex Series D camera. I would like to know what sound the camera made when the shutter was pressed and an exposure made. Thanks, |

The shutters on Graflex SLRs, no matter which model or format, sound the same. There's a video on YouTube demonstrating the use of a Graflex. The shutter is tripped several times beginning at about 3:00,

The camera in the youtube video is a RB Auto.
The camera Dorothea is holding in the photo on Lommen's site is a
Series D.
All Graflex SLR's are a variation on a theme.

Are the sounds of the shutter similar? If not, is there something you can compare it to? |

Graflex SLR's were made in 2 1/4 x 3 1/4, 3 1/4 x 4 1/4, 4x5, and 5x7 formats.
A 5x7 might be a little louder than a 4x5, a 4x5 a little louder than a 3x4, a 3x4 a little louder than a 2x3 but otherwise they are the SAME. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |
