Hi, fans!
I have a Schneider Xenar lens (sn 11,799,977, about 1971 vintage) that came into my possession some years ago. It has a "Compur electronic 1" shutter. I bought a battery for it, and it works beautifully. Does anyone know anything about this lens or the shutter? The other Xenars I've seen have a max aperature of f/4.7, as I recall. Maybe the newer Xenars were 4.5? It came in a box with instructions. Maybe there are a bunch of these lenses out there, but I haven't seen 'em. I'm considering mounting it on a Super Graphic, and was just wondering if it is something special that I should try to keep pristine. Pretty cool, though-- an electronic shutter from 30 years ago. Any help will be appreciated.

I found my lens at the Schneider site. The 4.5 lens weighs more, but otherwise the specs are the same. 161mm image circle. The Stephen Grimes site mentions the Compur electronic shutter. He says that the batteries are difficult or impossible to find. I found one easily enough. He also says that most of the shutters don't work. This one does, but it doesn't look like this lens is anything extraordinary.
