I'm planning to use my Anniversary Speed again and am fixing some of the problems. One is that the bottom tripod mount socket at some point was pried out. There is now only the hole in the wood. This is a user camera, not a collector camera.

Any suggestions as to how I could best replace the socket? Something from the hardware store glued in place?

Get a 1/4-20 brad hole T nut

JE, check your local hardware stores' parts drawers. They may have the 1/4"-20 threaded inserts so you will only have to buy one, and not a pack of them (the Amazon is for 13 pieces, and the price is more than you need to pay). The one that 45PSS references is the correct style for your camera, if I'm reading the image in his link aright, but FYI there are other configurations of these inserts besides the flanged one, which will make a more elegant install and are appropriate for other styles of Graflex cameras. Google up "1/4"-20 threaded inserts" and you'll get lots of hits showing various different kinds of these handy items.

The Anny's bottom tripod socket is a hex nut type pressed into the body section of the bed plate and the service instructions say to use a side socket insert, drill holes and attach with screws.

The Amazon link is for type identification only. The threaded inserts that screw into the wood will not hold in the wood body of the camera. There is also a prong type of T nut that has 3 pointed prongs that press into the wood and if inserted from the inside with the bed removed will hold for a while but would eventually work loose and further damage the wood as a tripod was securely attached and removed which may be the reason the wood around the socket hole is damaged.

Thanks - I found them at Lowe's of all places. So the flange goes on the inside of the camera - that makes sense. I would have put it on the outside without the photo.
