Hello All!

I was reading through "The Crown, Century and Speed Graphic Guide".
It mentioned therein that there were accessory extension bellows available for the Speed Graphic.

Is this true? Were there ever any extension bellows made for the Speed?
If so does anyone have one that they could post a pick of? I would like to see hoe it looks and works?

How would you fit an extension bellows anyway? Maximum bellows travel is limited by the length of the front standard tracks. I don't see how you could make it longer without also extending the tracks somehow.

Not to be a complete idiot, but if I had an extension bellows for a Graphic, how and where would I attach it?

My Graphics have all the bellows they can use without major rework.

Henry, that quotation is from the immortal W. C. Fields, who also said, "Here lies W. C. Fields. I would rather be living in Philadelphia."

Right you are. Emphasis on the dual meaning of "living": "alive," and "dwelling." Often misquoted as "I would rather be in Philadelphia," which sort of makes sense in the context of an epitaph, but isn't as funny (or subtle) as the original. BTW, neither quotation is actually on Fields's tombstone.

Have a frosty mug of Molson's, or whatever you guys drink up there, on me!

P.S. Despite what many ignorant writers have said, W.C. did not hate Philadelphia. There are numerous references to the city, and to other Pennsylvania locales, in his films, all of them quite fond. One example of many, this one from "The Old-Fashioned Way": "When I was playing Mahony City, up in P...." He never finishes the sentence, but the reference is to Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, up in the coal regions. I drove through it just the other day. (Locals pronounce it "Mackanoy.")

I have an illustration from a 1963 Burke and James catalog, showing a Speed Graphic fitted with an extension rail and long-tele lens.

How can I post it here?

The W.C. Feilds quote is from the 1940 film "My Little Chickadee".
