I've got a GVII with a Graflok back on it. I'd like to mount my Aptus 22 digital back so I can use my old and funky kodak lenses. It seems that the sliding mount makers recommend not using the graflok and instead recommend removing it and mounting a lensboard instead. Has anyone here tried this route?

A digital website would probably get your question answered quite a bit quicker, this website is pretty much dedicated to film only and hence, not a lot of information about things digital...

My mistake. It seemed like this website was pretty much dedicated to Graflex cameras in general.

I doubt that anyone here could answer your question either. Going to a digital forum makes the most sense because people there may have done what you're trying. It has nothing to do with it being a Graflex camera. It has to do with a digital back....

And if there's no way to connect a digi back into a standard Graflok back, then there's something wrong in the digi world. Well, we already know that, but this would just be something else wrong

Sorry for the cold shoulder or curt answer. I've always wanted to try to put a Digital back on a Speed or even a GV but never had the cash or the friends that had one for a Graflok back.

I never heard the part about ignoring the Graflok back and going with a lensboard and I'm not sure how that would work, or even why a Graflok back is bad for some reason.

It's not that digital is a four letter word here, It's just that most of us don't use it with a Graphic camera. just how cheap can I get a digital back for my Graphic?

I was not trying to be rude or curt or short at all, I was just making a statement to the fact that in the LF Graflex world around here, most of us use film and you may be better served posting your question on one of the many digital sites out there, sorry if you took it as being rude, with my business, I sell several thousands of screens to film users and several hundreds of screens to digital users, so really I have no biases at all.

I have in the past owned a 4x5 digital back and never had any problems attaching it to my Toyo with the international back...so you may be able to attach to your graflok back..

Try the Large Format fourm on http://www.photo.net or describe your digital back, its mounting (pictures helpfull) or link to the specs page on the web and some of us will give an honest evaluation. As Les said, the reason I don't have one is the cost and limited information on them. I'm waiting for a fast capture and low cost one.
