Complete detailed instructions in this recent post:

Procedure/assembly is the same for all Graflex cameras regardless of size. A 4x5 may have six screws along the top and bottom edges. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU.

Unless the D is radically different, it just a series of small wood screws around the sides top and bottom. If it doesn't come off with a little coaxing, you missed a screw. _________________ "In order to invent, you need a good imagination and a lot of junk" Thomas Edison |

If I remember correctly ten (100) flat head screws on the back and four(4) oval headed screws [2 per side].
Keep the types of screws separate and in pastic bags of containers. They are hard to replace. You would need to buy another camera for parts.
DO NOT USE AN OVAL HEADED SCREW ON THE BACK. IT WILL INTERFER WITH THE ROTATING BACK AND SCRAPE UP THE BACK PARTS.
