Bag mag - wrong septums?

I just bought a bag magazine that came with a box of 12 septums, numbered on the backs 1-12.
I have no experience with these magazines, and I cannot see a way to get the septums into the magazine. The septums measure about 1.5mm wider than the inside of the magazine. Am I missing something?

Gene on the front of the magazine their is a plate that comes off to place the septums and film in.
