I went out Sunday and shot some 4x5 Kodak E100SW. Got it back from the lab today, and the view through the loupe on the lightbox is darn near a religious experience.

Speed Graphic with 127 f4.7 Ektar in Graphex shutter. Exposure was 1/100th second at f16-ish.)

Yep, it sure is. Having shot a whole bunch of both the E100S and SW, I was pretty comfortable with the film, which is why I chose it for my 4x5 color test. You might want to read Kodak's technical documents on the Kodak site about this film and others in the "E" family:

E100S "Saturated"

E100SW "Saturated / Warm" (Great for shooting pictures of pretty girls, by the way.)

E100VS "Vivid Saturation"

The last one I haven't yet tried in 120/220, but I probably will next summer. I'm taking off from here with a truckload of film and cameras for a two- or three-week roadtrip to Wyoming and Montana. I think the VS Ektachrome would come in handy for shooting in Big Sky Country. I was in Montana for a couple of days back in November, but all I shot was fashion models in the studio (and with 35mm).

I have been getting alot of my film processed at KK Color Labs in Portland, OR a good friend of mine has worked there for over 10 years now and they do a fantasitic job and are very quick with anything you send them, they do alot of processing for the working pros what we all see show up in the coffee table books and such, their address is

Hey, thanks Dave! I'll give them a call. Fact is, I'm not totally pleased with the results from DeVille, and Pro Color is also too far to drive, so if I'm going to ship film off for processing, I might as well get really good quality, right?

As of Saturday next summer's trip west is a go for sure. (I came up with the money to pay for it.) On my trip in November I was stuck with what equipment I could get onto the plane with me, but next summer I'll have a pickup truck and shell, which means the battery will look something like this:

Pentax 67 and 67II bodies with lenses from 75mm to 300mm.

Graphic View with 127, 135, and 210mm lenses.

Lots and lots of E100SW for the 67s, along with probably 50 sheets of 4x5.

Oh yeah, lots and lots and lots of Plus X and Tri X.

Heck, I'll even bring along a 35 or two. Nah, just the Olympus point and shoot in case I find tourists to shoot.
