Hello everyone,
I just got a graphic view camera with 2 lenses as a gift from a client, I like the size and weight of it. My problem is the ground glass, I can not see it clearly ,
specially with the 90 mm angulon. Can not see the edges.
My question is this, how much more light will I get if I got a Fresnel lens? Will I see be a substancial difference in image brightness?
Thank you in advance...Luis |

yes the corners will brighten, but you'll find if you use a loupe to focus, the rings of the fresnel get in the way. Also try using a darkcloth and not just the metal shade. That will help tremedously and is cheaper.
If you do get a fresnel lens, you'll have to do some trimming. Graphic Views are made so that the ground glass installs from the back and rests on a machined edge. If you add the fresnel lens to that, you'll move the ground glass and you won't be focusing where the film is, which makes for fuzzy pictures and frustrated photographers.
