Grafmatic backs have a magnetically activated numbering wheel... Some people find this distracting; if you do, you can remove the wheel fairly easily.

I just got a Grafmatic (only $40 on ebay! Woo!) and I do indeed find the numbers distracting -- I like to shoot full-frame, and it doesn't work reliably anyway (sometimes it advances, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it only goes halfway to the next number). I searched the board, and found a post explaining how to remove it, but it seemed fairly complicated, and looked to be removing the entire system. All I want to do is take out the wheel itself, because a) I'm lazy like that, and b) for ease of reassembly if I ever decide to get rid of it.
So, what's the simplest way to remove the numbering wheel from the Grafmatic? |

The posting you found for total disassembly/removal is it unless you just break the wheel off each time it turns into the film frame.
You can contact me via the private message feature if you would like to send it to me for removal/cleaning/reassembly.
