I recently came across a Graham Roll Film Adapter. Does anyone have experience using one? When I developed the first roll there appears to be a light leak. There is fogging along the top and bottom edges, and my guess is the take-up compartment. The clip that you slip the take-up side is fairly tight, but I think this is where its leaking. Anyone have the same problem and a remedy?

I tried out a Graham adapter on my 23 Graphic and fixed the tired spring clip holding the film compartment cover shut by sliding in a 1/8-inch metal rod under the clip. This held the cover tight but the holder still leaked light periodically. The main trouble with the device (other than the unaccountable light leaks, which I tried without success to prevent with strategic use of gaffer tape) is its weight. The Graham holder weighs as much or more than the 23 Graphic, which makes holding the camera awkward. If you accidentally lift the whole assembly by the cylindrical compartments on the ends of the holder, the springs on the Graohic back won't keep the holder tight, with obvious results. The Graham holder must have been used with some success, but I couldn't figure out how. |
