I have some nice old wood 4x5 film holders. They appear to be light tight but have not been tested. The tape forming the hinge at the bottom of the holders is dried out and in a couple of cases split into complete separation. What kind of tape is suitable for replacement once the old tape is cleaned off. I suspect any decent solvent will clean the old tape off. Any advice welcome. |

1. Look on the Film forum for a thread on this.
2. Searches like this are easy with the "Search" function of the Helpboard. Look around, there's lots here to find on your own. |

Mostenblocker's Lift Off #2 for the residue removal; Gaffers tape will surfice for a replacement.

For 45pss, thanks.
For Alecj, I did try a search using the phrase film holder repair and got nothing useable which is why i posted the question. |

http://www.micro-tools.com/
Open the catalog, click on adhesives and Tapes and at the bottom of the page is 3 different widths of opaque tape that will work also.

MTWO: You used too many terms. This search feature will retrieve threads for each of those words individually.
Just using "tape" brings up the threads you're looking for.
I think Calumet sells tape for this purpose too. |
