I was trying to load this holder and the septums would not go in. When I opened the holder up there was a piece of metal 57mm by 15mm with a felt pad on on side whih I had never seen before. Does any one know what this is and where it fits and if it is necessary. also is there any information available on taking this type of holder apart. I have used this holder off and on for many years and never had this problem
before. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

With the film compartment pulled out to the right...looking into the 2X3 opening...my Grafmactic has a strip of felt about that size, possibly glued to the metal strip you described, on the upper left end inside, above what appears to be a metal flap bent-up. I assume it serves as a light seal. I can't see what would retain the strip with the felt. Hope this helps. Fred.
