You guys are the greatest!! I've recalculated the GN for ISO 100 film at 1/60th and it looks like it's just about 101, which fits pretty closely to what I'm seeing. Doing all of these calculations and keeping track of what bulb does what really gives me an appreciation of what past photographers went through.
T.R., you're absolutely correct about shooting outside at night and it doesn't help that I'm taking a picture of a tree with semi-dark green leaves. I'll try some other environments and subjects when I do additional testing.
I kid you not on the price of the SM bulbs (see http://www.flashbulbs.com) and it's not even the most expensive bulb on the site. The Mazda 75 goes for $100 a bulb and there's an early Shashalite in it's original box for $110. Is there anything people won't collect?
