... Does that imply that, for cameras with focal-plane shutters like my RB Auto, the lens could be reasonably easily dismounted from that shutter and mounted direct to a lens board?

No. You want a lens in barrel for your Graflex. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU.

Not quite right. A lens in shutter can be mounted on the board and used with the lens' shutter open. This is how a Graphic's focal plane shutter is used with a lens in shutter. |

Just put one on bulb/timelapse/open and shoot with the other. Makes sense.
