Hi All,

New to this forum.

I have what I believe to be a R. B . Series D Graflex Camera 4 x 5. I am trying to determine the time frame these were produced. I originally thought 1950s used through the 70s.

Unfortunately, I do not have the image available on a site to show but it looks identical to the second image on this site

The Series D is a Graflex SLR camera. Graflex SLR's are covered in the Reflex Help section.
4x5 RB Series D were produced from 1929 to 1945 then the same body under went some changes and became the Super D from 1948 to 1957.

RB stands for Revolving Back.

Now if you open the view hood door, fold the top of the view hood down you may see a 6 digit number ink stamped on the door. Some earlier cameras had it more under the view hood brace and the view hood has to be disconnected from the door to see it. If this is the case with your camera then remove a bottom screw from the brace retainer brace on either side of the door and loosen the top one 1/2 turn. Swing the brace retainer out then slide the hood brace out from under the other one and fold the hood down into the view opening. Record the number, reassemble the view hood to the door in reverse of disassembly.
