This procedure is called the Taco method. It allows you to develop four sheets of 4x5 film in a 3 reel Paterson tank. Here are two links to it:

This worked great for me. Just remember that when you add the fixer, after about 2 minutes, move the elastic band an inch or so up or down so you do not get a light line around the film.
I have been using Tri-X in Rodinal. Uses very minimal amounts of developer and is extremely economical and fast to prepare and develop. I just switched to Diafine, a two bath, expensive developer. However, it is idiot proof and lasts forever once mixed. Just 4 minutes in solution A and four minutes in Solution B and the results are great every time, no matter what. _________________ I love the smell of flashbulbs in the morning |

Fred Newman sells his BTZS 8x10 tube for $29.95 + 13.80 shipping.
These cost less than wwwholgamods 8x10.
I have used his 4x5 BTZS tubes with success. _________________
