I have a great Super Speed---and the electronic release still works!
However, I notice that Eveready has discontinued the 22.5 battery.
I used to get them at Battery Plus--no luck now. Also got them at Mid West Photo---but they stopped, too.
Any suggestons? _________________ gene aker |

Hey, I"m back in the game. I like the electronic release more than a cable. Two years ago, I had the Rodenstock 135mm rebuilt--works perfectly! _________________ gene aker |

I may have found a workaround for the 412 battery discontinuance. I fabricated a small plexiglass tray that holds a pair of type N (A23) 12v alkaline batteries (inexpensive!) in series with a pair of silicon diodes (-1.4v drop) to yield 22.6 volts. I checked the voltage and will build a second one to be able to test the Super Graphic. CAUTION - this is untested and requires careful fabrication and soldering skills. Try at your own risk.

I can't guarantee stock, and since I'm in Australia, don't have a lot to do with them, but you can but try.

What about using these batteries (http://www.amazon.com/Alkaline-22-5V-Battery-BLR155-15F15/dp/B008FPCWTO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402256898&sr=8-1&keywords=22.5+v+battery) in a custom battery compartment that fits inside the camera? |

They will not last very long if they work at all.
The solenoid, which the camera electronics power, is a current dependent device that requires 2 to 3 amps to operate. The solenoid is what trips the shutter.
The Eveready 412 is rated at 140 mAh.
The Exell 412A is rated at 180mAh. 128% of original.
http://www.amazon.com/Exell-Alkaline-22-5V-Battery-BLR122/dp/B00BNF0Y8Y/ref=pd_sim_sbs_misc_1/183-5528891-3399163?ie=UTF8&refRID=0VVD7DRT0ER1Q48MP7CX
The Exell 505 is rated at 60mAh. 42% of original.
1 mAh= 1 milliamp for an hour continuous current draw.
The batteries charge capacitors in the camera RF housing. Once charged the capacitors supply the current necessary to operate the solenoid.
The circuit will try to draw the current it needs to charge the capacitors from the batteries. Putting lower current capacity batteries in the camera will result in slower charge times which equal a longer delay between shutter trip cycles and shorter battery life.
Exceeding the original battery current capacity will give longer battery life and possibly slightly faster trip cycle times.

The ones I found on eBay come from China and require modification.
Too thick. I put a bi-metal blade on my band saw and sliced off the extra.
So the cons:
Shipping from China is slow.
Requires modification.
No band saw? A vice and belt sander should work.

I also bought these same China batteries from eBay (though a different seller). In my case, all I needed to do was to remove the oval sticker from the side of the battery and it did fit into my Super Graphic as is. No tools necessary. |

In my first attempt I removed the metal case of each battery entirely. Still too thick.
Lenght and width (as they lay in the battery compartment) are OK. _________________

Oh, rats! I thought one strip of electrical tape would be enough. Must have shorted out - either touching the roof of the compartment or the core and the battery case itself.
Reorder, retry! _________________
