Looking to get some sort of recessed lens board so I can use a 75mm S.A with my 6X12 roll back. Anyone with any thoughts as to who or where I can get one? _________________ Chris Faust

Go to the auction site and enter "recessed lensboard" in the search window. I got 207 hits 3 minutes ago. |

Which camera do you plan to use the 75mm/6x12 combo on?
Recessed lens boards were not made for Pacemaker Crown and Speed Graphics nor for Super Graphics.
One could possibly make a recessed board for an Anniversary Speed for the 75 depending on the shutter it is in. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |

Chris, Henry meant ebay.
Ain't no recessed boards for Graphics.
I don't understand why you think you need one. The 4x5 Pacemaker Speed Graphic's minimum extension is, according to the bible, tenth edition, 66.7 mm. All other 4x5 Graphics have shorter minimum extension.
The 75/5.6 and 75/8 SAs' flange focal distances are approximately 83 mm, according to Schneider. See, e.g., http://www.schneiderkreuznach.com/archiv/pdf/an_su_1970.pdf Both should focus well through infinity on a 4x5 Graphic.
What's the problem? |

I was actually searching for the same solution.
I'm using a Schneider-Kreuznach MC Super-Angulon 75mm F5.6. Yes, on my Crown Graphic, there's no problem focusing to infinity.
However, a recessed board would be very useful for movements. Currently, with the sports finder taken off of the front standard, I can get about 15mm rise before the bellows stiffens up. If the front standard could be place a couple cm forward, I'd be able to get maximum rise. |

Sorry, still ain't no recessed boards for Graphics.
But since you're in Boston, you might want to wander down to Woonsocket and have Adam Dau (skgrimes.com) show you why not. If I'm mistaken -- I doubt it, he's showed me why not -- please share the news with us. In this case I'd be delighted to be proven wrong. |
