I was wondering what I can do to use my lenses that have m and f syncs with a modern x sync flash. Also I was wondering what the sync is on my focal plane shutter and if that can be used with an x sync.

Not sure about how to use the M/F shutter with X flash, but I can answer the second half. The FP shutter requires special long-burning FP flashbulbs. |

| M and F class sync fire the flash before the shutter begins to open, to give the fire inside time to build to full intensity. If you use M or F with an electronic flash, the fire will have gone out before the shutter opens. Use X, which fires the flash after the shutter has opened, with electronic flash.
The focal plane shutter has class F syncronization, can't be used with electronic flash. The one exception (not clear whether you have a Graphic or a Graflex) is that electronic flash can be used with, if I recall correctly, Super Ds @ "drop shutter" speed.
Hope this helps,
Dan
