Hi there,
I recently converted my new Super D to use Graflok backs, and published a blog about it. Despite the usual approach of chopping up a Graflok and gluing it in place, I think that my approach is less invasive and certainly cheaper. At present I can also confirm that it is faster and easier to load than an actual Graflok, it seems this is the case because of the chamfered sliders.
My blog is here for all.

Bert made a custom adapter plate for my Graflex Model D RB so that I can use the Graflok back. The Graflok back was not hacked up.

I am curious to know how he does his conversion, can you send me a picture? Last I communicated with him was to let him know I had received the Pacemaker I bought from him, but he seemed short tempered, having just gone through some surgery. So it had not occurred to me to email him until after I had finished my design, which is not particularly invasive. |

I made an adapter plate from 1/4 inch thick birch plywood that fit into the back frame once the original Graflex blocks were removed and fitted a Roll Film Holder so that any make of RFH for the format would fit. I also shimmed the ground glass an equal amount. The camera is a 2x3 RB Series B. The supplied 127mm Ektar would infinity focus at f11~f16, a 135 or longer will infinity focus wide open. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |

tf,
Bert made that adapter out of one metal plate.
