I'd like to start a list of non-standard lenses that members have used on their Graflex SLRs.
What lens have you used on your SLR? How difficult was it to mount? Are you happy with the result? Any images? |

Not directly relevant, but why not?
I have a 2x3 RB Ser. B that's been converted into an SLR module for a 2x3 Cambo SC. I think of the assembly as Baby Bertha.
The shortest focal length it will focus to infinity is roughly 250 mm, the longest lens I have that it can use in the Cambo's current configuration is a 610/9 Apo Nikkor. Without the RB the 610 makes infinity on the Cambo but won't focus as close as I'd like.
I'm still tinkering with it, have to devise a support for the RB to reduce instability -- it rocks a little on the Cambo standard -- and get its shutter to give more speeds. I recently got a 900/10 Apo Saphir, need to rework the Cambo's extension tube to get the extension the 900 needs, get a longer rail, and make a crutch for the monster. The lens weighs not quite 10 pounds.
This winter's projects. |

I have a 20cm f3.5 Hexar on my 5x7 Press.....sharp lens.
A 152mm Ektar (in shutter) on my 4x5 Auto Graflex. Came off a 4x5 Speed Graphic.
A 8" Pinkham and Smith Synthetic on my 4x5 RB series D. Love this lens!! _________________ "We must first see the picture in nature and be struck by its beauty so that we cannot rest until we have secured it on our plate"... P H Emerson |

Oooops...forgot second part of the question.....
Example of Hexar image.......

Lens is mounted on the back of a 3/8" thick lens-board....needs to be a little closer to the film to focus at infinity......overall not a difficult job.
No example of the Ektar yet....just got it mounted. Easy to mount, removed stock lens and this one slipped right in the hole with the retaining ring on back.
Example of Pinkham & Smith image.......

Made several standard size lens-boards and mounted this into one, nothing fancy. _________________ "We must first see the picture in nature and be struck by its beauty so that we cannot rest until we have secured it on our plate"... P H Emerson |
