I have a Graflex 3-cell and am looking for the mounting plate that it would be attached to. I have looked long and hard, and have been unable to find the single piece, and i have no interest in getting a camera just to strip it of this item.

I'm not trying to solicit offers from members, and this isn't meant as a "want-to-buy" ad, just hoping if someone may be able to point me in the right direction of where one might be obtained.

by "Graflex 3 cell" I assume you mean the flash with the glass eye.

Can you post a photo of the camera you want to use this with? We can't host photos here at Graflex.org but several photo sites like flikr and photobucket make it fairly easy to do

There are several different versions of that universal strip. that's why I ask.

It will be used with the Mamiya C330 that I use most regularly.
However, it will be mounted on a Graflex made TLR bracket that comes with the mount for the later Graflex flashes that use the Honeywell clips (as I believe they are called).

Well probably the best bracket would be the one off of a black Kalart Range finder. Some times you find Kalart RFs already stripped. Next up would be the bracket from a top RF Pacemaker.

Both of these brackets lay flat so you could remove the Graflite bracket and drill and tap the TLR bracket for the new strip style bracket.

Occasionally these come up in parts lots on ebay. I'm currently 'rearranging the deck chairs" in my office, if my box of spare parts shows up I'll keep you in mind.

They did make this bracket with the strip bracket attached, but finding one would be rare.

The information you have provided was quite helpful.

There are some Kalart Rangefinders up on eBay currently, so I am giving
consideration to one of those, as they are cheap (being mostly for parts)

my Kalart rf uses a simple strip of 5/8" wide steel, held onto the RF with washers as stand offs.

That's the set-up that I was planning on using when I grab one of the mounting plates.

There's a flash mounting plate on ye olde auction site now that might be what you're looking for. The item no. is 260569144908.

I am really not understanding this whole thread. The bracket pictured on the auction site looks identical to the one that appears to be riveted to the Graflite platform bracket (see picture posted above) that OP is going to use with his Mamiya 330. It would seem that what OP needs are the Graflite clamps cat. no. 2771---unless his Graflite 3-cell battery holder is some other shape than the standard tubular one. A picture of OP's Graflite would really help here.

The OP has an original Graflex (not Graflite) flash. What he needs is the 5/8" wide by 1/16?" thick strip-bracket that is actually underneath the Graflite bracket in the said auction.

I also suggested that he could got to a hobby store and find the right size steel bar and mounted to the camera bracket using screws and washers as stand-offs, much like the Kalart E-2 though E-6 Rangefinders do.

Yes, the one that I am looking for is the 5/8" wide plate. I have found a few
lots of Kalart Rangefinders that have them. (ebay #260566719367 for
example... please tell me if I am wrong)

However, I cannot go to a hobby store, as we have none on the island... (I
would have to spend much time and money going off-island to find one) and
there is no longer a machinist on the island as of the the past decade or two.
