Strobonar I & III used Willlard ER-2-6B batteries according to Heiland literature I have. Oddly, the Strobonar II is not mentioned, when models I & III are described.
Unfortunately, no voltage given. Perhaps some catalog for Willard battries will reveal this.
Strobonar IV takes Willard ER-11-2 wet cell batteries.
Strobonar V takes Heiland 630 510 Volt Dry battery.
Strobonar Seven takes 4 'D' cells, or ProPak 510 Volt Dry battery.

I would be very careful working with this unit. It sounds as though the cap.'s are wired series\paralell no single cap can have more than 450 volts on it as that is what they are rated for. As for the vibirator, old Tube type 6 volt car radios used this as there b+ supply (Tube Type)An antique radio buff might help here. The Century shutter at 100 would be set for 0 delay and the red setting's are for flash bulbs. This info is of probably no help, but just some ideas. Russ |

In one of my jobs with the Water Dept I wanted to step up from a Metz with a 200ws rating to a Norman with a 400ws rating.
Under normal conditions the Norman ran very well. But occasionally mother nature would raise her head and I'd end up in a cinder block basement that was a few degrees warmer than the equipment and a whole lot damper.
Just for the record, warm moist air hitting a cold, dry 450mfd 250v capacitor is not fun. Combine it with the fact that it was sitting inside a 5 gallon bucket so as to use said bucket as a sounding board into a living room sized bunker that was nothing but steel and concrete.
the effect was a sound two to three times louder than any m-80 I got to play with. Cost a lot more to repair too.
I went back to using the Metz for hazardous duty and the norman for normal days. |
