I recently bought a Graflex Identification Unit which consists of a stand with a numbered unit for taking mug shots. It does not have the camera with it. I am looking for pictures and/or reference material on this piece in order to restore it as accurately as possible. Can anyone help? Willard |

There's a pic and article on that camera in the 8th Graphic Graflex Photography book by Morgan and Lester. Good hunting.
Be aware there were different models. One was on a stand, with wheels, and used in office or plant locations. A modified version was used by the military during WWII, and mounted on a tripod known as the "Compact Stand.""
Both used the same camera which is essentially a lens with frame and a 100' 35mm film magazine. |

Is your stand fairly long with the numbered wheels at one end and knobs at the other, all supported by two columns?

Graflex Photorecord Cameras occasionally pop-up 'where-U-know" even here in Europe.
No-one seems to buy them.
Some info taken from 'The Bible', anno 1948 :
84mm f5 lens
T B 1/2 => 1/50 speeds
800 pics on bulk 100ft 135 double-perforated film
Exposure counter
Size of pic 1 x 1 3/8 inches
4 - 8 persons per minute if operator was well trained
Nicknamed " The Portable Studio "
Could be used for microfilming 1/12 original size
Good luck !

And a Google search with 'graflex photorecord' produces around 70 results. |
