The shutter curtain on my RB Series B 2x3 Graflex is badly torn. Where can I find a replacement. _________________ The early bird may catch the worm, but the second mouse always gets the cheese! |

mhcfires- The last 2x3 RB Series B was made around 1951 or '52. New O.E.M. replacement curtains are probably not around. The way I see it, you have two choices:
(1)-Shutter curtain material is sold online. Buy the fabric and make a replacement. I'm told it's not hard. Or pay someone to do it for you.
(2)- Find a broken RB Series B body with a good curtain and use it for parts. There's always 2x3 RB Series B's around on the auction site.
OTOH, parts cameras cost about the same as ready-to-use replacements. What I'd do is get another working camera and use the present one for parts. Wait 'til you get one at a decent price. Look for the post-war version-it's newer (less wear + tear).
This was the highest-volume Graflex L.F. SLR. It should be pretty easy to buy a complete working camera for about $150 on the auction site. Don't overpay. IMHO, a used 2x3 RB isn't worth $300+. Good luck. _________________ Got first Speed Graphic at 15 (1976).Other kids were using 35mm SLR's. I ran around with flashbulbs and sheet-film holders, I wanted to be Weegee (#2084). |
