After having a VERY close look at Thafred's camera and my mystery one(see the previous post above) it appears they are very similar (apart from his being black and mine being green) in that they both have body releases for the front shutter, and the top surface of the bed, the rear shutter mechanism cover and the focusing hood are all in crinkle paint finish.
These are quite different to the gloss paint on the KE-12(1) which is the only other green Speed Graphic I've seen.
The Graflok backs on both have the sliders as well, which makes them very unusual for military models. I so wish some moron hadn't hacksawed the ID plate from my one!

It seems to be a common situation when a military camera was decommission to remove the tag and declare the camera destroyed.
