I got some new darkslides for Riteways that were in the original packaging. What was unusual was that some of them were marked as type 1644 instead of the usual 1444, and the factory printing on the envelope said that they were "for color". I haven't heard of special darkslides for color; why would they have been any different from the more common 1444 darkslides?

I never noticed any numbers on the dark slides

But it's an interesting question, which I obviously have no answer for, but would like to hear one...
