Do the Linhof Rollex (knob wind) or Super Rollex (lever wind) roll film backs work on a 4/5 Pacemaker Speed with Graflok back?
Does someone have any experience? What should I look for?
Strangely enough, here in germany the Linhof backs are much more numerous and even cheaper than Graflex or Toyo.
Thank you very much,

If my information is correct, there is a difference in the two. I believe it's the Super Rollex back that fits. Perhaps there is a dealer near you that has one you can test for fit?

Hi Glenn,
thank you very much - I'll try and find a dealer who has used super rollexes (the new ones are hideously expensive, I'd rather get a nice Rollei 66 for that). |

They should both work, but the earlier Rollex (knob wind) backs even when in perfect working order are likely to have frame spacing issues with some films, because they are designed to advanced the film a fixed number of turns of the winding gear, and some modern films and their paper backing are thinner than older films. If you do have one of these backs and it doesn't work with your film of choice, you might try starting the film a bit past the start arrow to see what works.
Super-Rollex (lever wind) backs meter the actual film distance traveled, so they don't have this problem. |

Hi David,
thank you very much, that was extremely helpful - now I know what to look for (of course the Super Rollex are more expensive...)
