I'm wondering about roll film backs for my Crown Graphic. I used a 23 6x9 back for a while, but didn't like the format, and it had a light leak I had a problem with.
Any suggestions on a good 6x7 or 6x6 back? Also, when I use a roll film back, do I take the ground glass off and clamp it down with the arms? Or am I approaching this the wrong way?
Thanks,
- Thom |

Graflex made 120 rollfilm holders for all three formats, and they all are widely available. I think the 10-exposure 6x7 ones only were made with lever advance.
There is a tremendous amount of information about rollfilm holders on this site, including non-Graflex models.
With a "Graflok" back, the method of focusing and exposing is just as you describe it, if the arms to which you refer are the heavy chromed slides at top and bottom. Compose and focus, lock the tripod down tight, remove the focusing panel, put the rollfilm holder in place, and secure it with the slides. |
